ITIL 4 Managing Professional is the standard for IT service management professionals who lead and manage IT-enabled services. It requires completing four separate modules β Create Deliver & Support (CDS), Drive Stakeholder Value (DSV), High-Velocity IT (HVIT), and Direct Plan & Improve (DPI) β each with its own PeopleCert exam at Β£350+ per attempt. The total cost typically runs to Β£8,000βΒ£11,000 for the complete MP pathway. And yet, what makes someone an effective IT service management professional is not the ability to pass four multiple choice exams β it is the ability to design service value streams, optimise stakeholder interactions, apply DevOps and Agile principles to IT services, and drive continual improvement with data. XITSM builds this capability in a single cohesive programme.
Across five instructor-led days, XITSM covers all four ITIL 4 Managing Professional modules as an integrated body of knowledge: service value stream design, demand and capacity management, service desk design, stakeholder journey mapping, high-velocity IT operating models, continual improvement methodology, and governance for IT service management. Every session applies ITIL concepts to real IT service management scenarios rather than preparing for individual exam question banks.
On Day 5, participants design a comprehensive IT service management improvement programme for a simulated organisation, applying concepts from all four ITIL MP modules. A senior ITSM practitioner assesses the quality of the service design, improvement methodology, and stakeholder value creation. XITSM certificate and Practitioner Assessment Report issued. Aligned with ITIL 4 Managing Professional all four modules (CDS/DSV/HVIT/DPI), ISO 20000-1, DORA operational resilience (ITSM dimension), and SIAM (Service Integration and Management) methodology.
Hands-on service value stream mapping, continual improvement register design, stakeholder journey mapping, high-velocity IT operating model design, and a comprehensive service improvement programme design on Day 5.
Mentor-led sessions connecting ITIL 4 concepts to real IT service management challenges in cloud-native, DevOps, and multi-vendor environments β with explicit links to where each concept applies in practice.
