5-Day Instructor-Led Programme
The XPROJ Certification Programme is the practitioner standard for project managers who apply structured project management methodology across complex organisational projects — integrating PRINCE2 7th Edition principles and practices with PMI/PMP competency domains and modern Agile and hybrid delivery approaches. Assessed on Day 5 through a supervised project scenario requiring methodology application across all domains — no open-book MCQ exam, no question bank.

PRINCE2 Practitioner and PMP are the two most recognised project management certifications globally. PRINCE2 is mandatory for UK public sector projects. PMP is required by many US and global enterprises. Both are exam-based. PRINCE2 7 Practitioner is a 2.5-hour open-book exam of 70 scenario questions. PMP is a 230-question adaptive exam across three domains. Neither measures whether a project manager can actually run a project — they measure whether candidates can correctly apply methodology in a controlled test environment. XPROJ is built for project managers who want to demonstrate they can lead projects, not just answer questions about them.
Across five instructor-led days, XPROJ covers the complete practitioner-level project management body of knowledge: PRINCE2 7th Edition (7 principles, 7 practices, 7 processes, People dimension, Sustainability integration), PMI competency domains (project performance/stakeholders/team/development approach/planning/project work/delivery/measurement/uncertainty), Agile and hybrid delivery approaches, benefits realisation, stakeholder management, risk management at project level, and project governance. The PRINCE2 7th Edition September 2023 updates are fully incorporated — including the People dimension, sustainability, and digital/data management additions.
On Day 5, participants are presented with a complex project scenario and must develop a project initiation documentation package, risk register, stakeholder engagement plan, and governance framework applying methodology from across the programme. A senior project management practitioner assesses the quality of planning, risk thinking, and governance design. XPROJ certificate and Practitioner Assessment Report issued. Aligned with PRINCE2 7th Edition, PMI PMBOK 7th Edition, PMI Performance Domains, APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition, and UK Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) project delivery standards.
Hands-on project initiation document drafting, risk register development, stakeholder mapping, change management plan design, benefits realisation framework construction, and a comprehensive project scenario assessment on Day 5.
Mentor-led sessions drawing on real project case studies — what went wrong in major UK and international projects and which methodology principles, had they been applied, would have prevented it.
Design and govern complex projects from initiation through closure using PRINCE2 7 and PMI competency domains, manage stakeholders and risk at practitioner level, and communicate project governance to executive sponsors and boards.

PRINCE2 7 Practitioner is a 2.5-hour open-book exam of 70 scenario questions. XPROJ is 5 instructor-led days covering PRINCE2 7, PMI PMBOK 7, Agile/hybrid delivery, benefits realisation, and public sector governance — assessed on Day 5 through a comprehensive project scenario where participants produce actual project documentation, not answer scenario questions. XPROJ is broader than PRINCE2 alone — it integrates the PMI competency domains that global employers increasingly require alongside PRINCE2.
