DAMA CDMP is the leading data management certification, covering 14 DMBOK knowledge areas across data governance, data quality, master data management, data architecture, data security, and more. But CDMP is fundamentally a self-study MCQ exam requiring hundreds of hours of independent reading from a 600-page textbook followed by multiple choice examinations. It tests knowledge recall, not the ability to design a data governance framework, conduct a data quality assessment, or build a data mesh architecture. XDATA builds these applied skills.
Across five instructor-led days, XDATA covers the core DAMA DMBOK knowledge areas with direct practical application: data governance programme design including stewardship and ownership models, data quality lifecycle management with profiling tools, data architecture patterns including data mesh and data lakehouse, master data and reference data management, metadata management and data catalogue governance, data security and privacy governance, AI and ML data governance aligned to EU AI Act Article 10, and regulatory data compliance for UK public sector, NHS, and financial services.
On Day 5, participants design a data governance framework and data quality programme for a simulated enterprise. A senior data management practitioner assesses the framework design, quality methodology, and governance structure. XDATA certificate and Practitioner Assessment Report issued together.
