5-Day Instructor-Led Programme
The XAIG Certification Programme is the practitioner standard for AI governance professionals who implement AI management systems, assess AI risk across the EU AI Act risk tiers, and govern responsible AI deployment in enterprise and regulated sector environments. Assessed on Day 5 through a supervised AI governance framework design and AI risk assessment exercise β no MCQs, no theory exam.

The EU AI Act 2024 is the most significant regulatory development in artificial intelligence globally. High-risk AI systems require conformity assessments, risk management systems, and ongoing monitoring. General purpose AI models carry transparency obligations. Prohibited AI practices carry fines of up to 7% of global annual revenue. Almost no organisation is ready. Almost no training provider offers a practical, instructor-led programme that teaches professionals how to govern AI systems against this regulatory reality. XAIG fills that gap.
Across five instructor-led days, participants build AI governance capability across the complete governance lifecycle: understanding the EU AI Act risk classification system, implementing ISO/IEC 42001 AI management systems, applying the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (Govern/Map/Measure/Manage), conducting AI risk assessments for deployed and planned AI systems, governing AI supply chains and third-party AI providers, and producing the documentation that regulators and auditors require. Every session uses real AI system case studies drawn from healthcare, financial services, hiring, law enforcement, and content recommendation contexts.
On Day 5, participants design an AI governance framework for a simulated enterprise operating multiple AI systems across risk tiers, including at least one high-risk AI system under the EU AI Act. A senior practitioner with AI governance experience assesses the framework design, risk assessment quality, and regulatory documentation. XAIG certificate and Practitioner Assessment Report issued. Aligned with EU AI Act 2024, ISO/IEC 42001:2023, NIST AI RMF 1.0, OECD AI Principles, UK AI Safety Institute frameworks, and G7 Hiroshima AI Code of Conduct.
Hands-on EU AI Act risk classification exercises, ISO 42001 gap assessment, NIST AI RMF playbook development, AI risk register design, transparency statement production, and AI governance framework design on Day 5.
Mentor-led sessions examining real AI governance failures (algorithmic bias, opaque decision-making, safety incidents), EU AI Act enforcement scenarios, and how to govern AI suppliers and third-party models effectively.
Design and implement AI management systems aligned to ISO 42001, govern AI risk across EU AI Act risk tiers, and produce the documentation that satisfies EU AI Act Article 9 risk management system requirements for high-risk AI.
Classify AI systems across EU AI Act risk tiers and determine applicable legal obligations for prohibited, high-risk, GPAI, and minimal-risk AI categories
Implement ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AI Management Systems including all clause requirements, AI impact assessments, and continual improvement processes
Apply the NIST AI RMF across all four functions (Govern/Map/Measure/Manage) to enterprise AI risk management programmes
Conduct AI risk assessments using AI-specific risk taxonomy and produce AI risk registers aligned to ISO 31000 adapted for AI context
Produce EU AI Act Article 9β13 technical documentation for high-risk AI systems including risk management systems, technical documentation, and transparency statements

Not everyone learns best in a group. If you want focused guidance, faster clarity, and confidence you can use on the job, our 1-to-1 Fast-Track Training gives you private, mentor-led support tailored to your experience and goals.
"Many learners choose 1-to-1 when they want understanding, not memorisation."
Credential
On successful completion of Xcademia AI Governance Practitioner, learners receive an Xcademia Certificate of Completion. This standalone certificate is issued directly by Xcademia and recognised by employers across the UK defence and security sector.
Everything you need to know about the certification exams
You will receive an Xcademia certificate of completion based on participation and successful completion of labs and scenario simulations.
Everything you need to know about this course
No UK training provider currently offers an instructor-led, practitioner-assessed AI governance programme covering the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, and NIST AI RMF at depth. What exists is either a 1β2 day awareness programme (not sufficient for implementation), an MCQ exam (CompTIA SecAI+), or generic risk management training. XAIG is the first programme that builds the capability to actually implement AI governance β not just describe it.
